Actress Diana Rigg Died at the age of 82

The film industry lost yet another legend!

English actress Diana Rigg passed away at her home in London on 10 September 2020, at the age of 82. Her daughter Rachael Stirling revealed her cause of death to be cancer. The legendary actress was diagnosed in March with cancer.

Rigg had risen to stardom with her role in the 1960s television series The Avengers and won millions of fans’ hearts with her role as Olenna Tyrell in the famous HBO fantasy series Game Of Thrones.

Diana Rigg was born on 20 July 1938, in Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. She was an English actress. Her full name is Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg.

Diana Rigg first started her career as an actress in theatres making her debut in The Caucasian Chalk Circle in 1957. Rigg appeared in many productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company. She made her TV debut in the TV film A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1959. The actress subsequently gained good recognition for her role as Emma Peel in the British TV series The Avengers from 1965 to 1968. She made her film debut in the 1968 film A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The actress is also widely recognized for her role as the wife of James Bond, Countess Teresa di Vicenzo in James Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
