Bappi Lahiri Dies at the Age of 69, Doctor Says It was Due to OSA

Bappi Lahiri, one of the most prominent singers of all time died at Mumbai’s Criticare Hospital today. He was the man who ruled over the music industry of India for straight two-decade 1970s-1980s. And he was critically brought to the Criticare Hospital on Tuesday after his discharge on Monday. His doctor said that his health was deteriorating since he was admitted first which was done a couple of months ago. He died of OSA, Obstructive Sleep Apnea which occurs when the muscles like the tongue block the airway.

Bappi Lahiri’s family is devastated as his death was unexpected and caused very big damage to the Indian music industry. As his son Bappa Lahiri was in LA, U.S, the funeral and the rituals will be held, tomorrow, Thursday after his arrival.

The Indian singer has been the one hot star on that height that every startup musicians and singers dream of. He had composed and sang for several films such as Prem Pratigya, Ghayal, Amar Sangi, Sataymev Jayate, Aankhen, etc. His most recent song is “Bhankas” which was for Baghi 3. Lata Mangeshkar died just 10 days before his demise. So, his death is one to have salt on the wound of the Indian music industry.

The current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi tweeted about how saddened he is due to his sudden demise of him. He also added that he was one of the extraordinary and the one singer who beautifully expressed their emotions in their songs.
