Choi Yerim is also known as Choerry. Choi is a South Korean rapper, singer under BlockBerryCreative. She is a member of the girl group LOONA and its second sub-unit ODD EYE CIRCLE. LOONA is a twelve-member girl group under BlockBerry Creative. The full group held their debut concert “LOONAbirth” on August 19, 2018, followed by the release of their debut mini-album the next day.

She was born Choi Yeriim on June 4, 2001, in Bucheon, South Korea. Choi debuted on July 12, 2017, as a member and subsequently released her solo single album Choerry on July 28, 2017.

Choerry appeared on a 2009 episode of Happy Time, Fantastic Mates when she was seven years old, and performed a dance cover of Son Dam-bi’s “Saturday Night. She performed a cover of Taeyeon’s “The Blue Night of Jeju Island” at a festival on April 23, 2016. Likewise, Choerry was initially cast after participating in a vocal contest. She later passed her audition for Polaris/BlockBerry Creative and became a trainee at the same time as fellow members HaSeul and YeoJin, either late 2015 or early 2016.

Career

South Korean rapper Choi was revealed as the eighth member of LOONA on July 12, 2017. Her solo single album, titled “Choerry”, was released on July 28. She debuted as a member of the group’s second sub-unit, ODD EYE CIRCLE, on September 21, 2017, with the mini-album Mix & Match. Choerry finally debuted as a member of Loona on  August 20, 2018, From October 2016 until June 2018, each member of the group was revealed along with a solo single album and a music video with sub-units being introduced as members are revealed. They currently have 12 active members along with 3 subunits. The full group held their debut concert “LOONAbirth” on August 19, 2018, followed by the release of their debut mini-album [+ +] the next day
