Biography of Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow is one of the very famous and most trending personality nowadays in different social media and on the Internet as well. Moreover, he is famous as an English cricketer, who plays internationally for England, domestically for Yorkshire, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. The early life of Jonny Bairstow

Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1989, Bairstow displayed his early talent when he was chosen as the inaugural winner of the Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year award. Likewise, this was for the form he showed in 2007 for St Peter’s School, York when he scored 654 runs. Furthermore, he is the second son of former Yorkshire and England wicket-keeper David Bairstow and the half-brother of former Derbyshire player Andrew Bairstow. Similarly, he is often referred to as ‘Young Jonny Bairstow’, ‘Yorkshire’s Jonny Bairstow’ or ‘YJB’ by fans.

The early career of Jonny Bairstow

During the 2008 season, he played second XI cricket for Yorkshire, in six championship matches he scored 308 runs at an average of 61.60. Likewise, he was called up to the first-team squad for the final County Championship match of the season against Sussex but failed to make the starting eleven.

T20 franchise career

In December 2018, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. Furthermore, Bairstow made his IPL debut on 24 March 2019 for SRH against Kolkata Knight Riders. Basically, he scored 39 off 35 balls as an opener but ended up on losing side. Moreover, Bairstow continued to impress in the first SRH home game with a match-winning 45 off 28 balls against Rajasthan Royals in a high scoring affair.

T10 franchise career

In late November 2018, after the England v Sri Lanka test series ended, Bairstow signed a short term contract to play for the Kerala Kings in the T-10 League in Shahjah – where he played alongside Eoin Morgan. Furthermore, in his second (and final) game for the franchise that year. Moreover, he scored 84 not out off 24 balls – a new record in the format – helping his side record a 7 wickets win.
