I have been deeply disturbed by what is in the news lately, the separation of children from their parents. Thank goodness they are no longer separating them but reunification is needed urgently. Children’s place is with their parents and separation should only ever occur if trafficking or abuse is happening. It breaks my heart thinking of all the families currently ripped apart. We can not keep them apart, we do not have the capacity or the right. No matter how many great families there are in the foster family programs there are far too many children who would go to people who should never be allowed around children. Abuse, neglect, and sexual violence would then abound. Reunification is the only answer! #commondecency #reunification #endseparation #humanity #familystogether #familyrights

Smart and Matthew Gilmour tied the knot in 2012 in a beachfront ceremony in Hawaii.

In addition, she became a headline news after she got kidnapped at age fourteen on June 5, 2002. She was kidnapped by Brian David Mitchell from her home in the Federal Heights neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. Later, on this charge Mitchell was also sentenced to life imprisonment.

Congratulations Happy Couple!
