Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara are finally a father and a mother now!
Famous Actor Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have recently been blessed with a sweet baby boy. Director Victor Kossakovsky revealed the exciting news at the 2020 Zurich film festival after a screening of the documentary film Gunda. The film Gunda is directed, written, and edited by Viktor Kossakovsky whereas the happy father of his newly born son is the executive producer.
Moreover, the couple has also named their baby, River, after the name of Phoenix’s late brother, River, who died in 1993. Similarly, Kossakovsky revealed the news when he was asked about Joaquin’s involvement in the documentary as an executive producer and how he got connected with him. He said, “Now he is dad… He just got a baby by the way … A beautiful son called River.” River Phoenix who had starred in many films died due to an accidental drug overdose at the age of 23.
Mara and Phoenix had started dating in 2016 and subsequently became engaged in July 2019. They haven’t yet tied the knot.

Rooney Mara was born on April 17, 1985, in Bedford, New York, US. She is an American actress. Similarly, she is best known for her role as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
