Kevin Hart won’t be hosting Oscars form onward!
American actor and comedian, Kevin Hart told Variety that he’s done.
Similarly, he said to Varietym, “Would I ever do it? No, it’s done. It’s done. The moment came and it was a blessing and I was excited at the opportunity and I still am. In my mind I got the job, it was a dream job, and things came up that simply prohibited it from happening. But I don’t believe in going backwards.”
Hart received backlash for deleting his past homophobic tweets after he was announced as a host of the 2019 Oscars in December. He also once announced to host it via Instagram post, “For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same…I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s suppose to.”
Similarly, he explained, “I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time….To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable.”
He further added and thanked, “I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time.”
He finally concluded, “I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. I appreciate the @TheAcademy for the opportunity ….now it’s time to rise to the occasion #Oscars”
But, now, he has stepped back from the decision.
Hart also told DeGeneres in The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “I have made several mistakes, and I embrace them all. I’m a better man today because of it. In this case, I just said I’m going to walk away because I felt like it was a conversation that was just going to continue and continue and continue. I would much rather say I’m sorry again and walk away…I don’t want to have to have this conversation anymore, because I know who I am. I’m not that guy.”
